Are the Golden State Warriors going to rebound from a season-opening loss to down the host New Orleans Pelicans on the spread Friday night at 9:30PM EST?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Warriors are 9-point favorites on the spread. The over-under sits at 221 points.

Golden State is 0-1 on the season after falling 122-121 in its season opener at home versus Houston. New Orleans is also 0-1 following a 103-91 loss at the Grizzlies. The Warriors won all four meetings last season, but the Pelicans covered the spread in three of the games. The total went over in three of the games.

On Tuesday, the Warriors blew a 17-point lead in the losing effort. Nick Young scored a team-high 23 points off the bench. Steph Curry put in 22 points to go with five rebounds and four assists. Kevin Durant tallied 20 points, seven assists and five rebounds. Draymond Green registered nine points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds before leaving with a knee injury. He has been cleared to play in Friday's game.

In the Pelicans' loss, Anthony Davis turned in a monster performance with 33 points and 18 rebounds. DeMarcus Cousins chipped in with 28 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocked shots. E'Twaun Moore added 11 points. After leading 34-27 through one quarter, New Orleans was outscored in every ensuing quarter of the defeat.

Golden State is 2-5 in its last seven meetings with New Orleans. The over is 5-1 in the last six meetings.

Bet on Warriors vs. Pelicans

Golden State has to be salty after blowing the big lead in its opener. With Green able to play tonight, this has all the makings of a blowout against a Pelicans team still trying to figure out the dynamics of Davis and Cousins on the court together. Even on the road, the Warriors are the best the NBA has to offer.
