Can the visiting Philadelphia 76ers cover the spread Saturday night at 7:30PM EST versus the Toronto Raptors?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Raptors are a 7-point favorite on the spread. The over-under is set at 217.5. 

The 76ers are 0-2 following a 102-92 home loss Friday night to the Celtics. Toronto is 1-0 after a season-opening 117-100 home win against the Bulls Thursday night. The Raptors won three of four meetings last season and the games were 2-2 ATS. The total went over three out of four times.

In the Sixers' loss, JJ Redick scored a team-high 19 points to go with four assists. Joel Embiid tallied 11 points and 14 rebounds. Ben Simmons had 11 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. Jerryd Bayless put in 18 points. Philadelphia was outscored 33-20 in the fourth quarter of the loss.

Jonas Valunciunas had a monster game for Toronto in its win with 23 points and 15 boards. C.J. Miles tallied 22 points and five rebounds off the bench. Norman Powell contributed 15 points and four rebounds. After leading by two through one quarter, the Raptors blew it up by outscoring Chicago 33-14 in the fourth.

Bet on 76ers vs. Raptors

The Raptors looked good in their opener, albeit at home against a depleted Bulls squad. What was very encouraging is that they didn't rely on huge numbers from Kyle Lowry and Demar DeRozan, instead getting quality nights from a number of role players. While Philadelphia is clearly improved, its first two games have shown there is much work to be done and now the Sixers are on a back-to-back with travel. Give the points and take the Raptors.
