Celtics vs. Heat, 9/23/20 NBA Eastern Conference Finals Game 4 Predictions

The Celtics picked up their first victory in their NBA Eastern Conference Finals matchup with the Heat but will they make it two in a row and even their series with Miami tonight? Tip-off of Game 4 is set for tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Game 4, NBA Eastern Conference Finals

Boston Celtics DFS Spin

Jayson Tatum shot 9-of-20 from the field and 5-of-5 from the foul line in Saturday’s win over the Heat, posting a line of 25 points, 14 rebounds, eight assists and two 3-pointers in 41 minutes. Tatum has now scored 20 points or more in six straight playoff games, and this was the 24th postseason game in his career in which he’s hit that mark. Only two other players in NBA history have more 20-point playoff games to their credit before turning 23 years old: the late Kobe Bryant (32), and LeBron James (29). With Saturday’s effort Tatum moved into third on that list, breaking a tie with Derrick Rose.

Miami Heat DFS Spin

Tyler Herro shot 4-of-12 from three in Saturday’s loss to the Celtics, posting a line of 22 points (8-of-18 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), three rebounds, four assists and one steal in 36 minutes. With Jimmy Butler (17 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots) and Goran Dragic (11/1/5 with one 3-pointer and five turnovers) nowhere near as impactful as they were in the first two games of the series, Herro was asked to do even more scoring off the bench. And to his credit the rookie stepped up, with the 22 points representing a new playoff career-high. In fact this was just Herro’s second playoff game with at least 20 points, as he hit that number in Game 3 of the Heat’s first round series vs. Indiana. He’ll be a good fantasy option next season but how valuable the “Baby Goat” will be in 2020-21 depends upon what happens with Dragic, as he’ll be a free agent this offseason

Celtics vs. Heat Game 4 Betting Prediction

I think the number on the spread is right but I like the game to go over the total tonight. The over is 10-1 the last 11 times that the Heat have played on Wednesday and 4-0 the last four times the Celtics have played on this day of the week. A lot less random is the fact that the over is also 9-4 in the Heat’s last 13 games coming off a loss of more than 10 points, is 7-3 in their last 10 games when playing on three or more days of rest and is 5-2 in their last seven conference finals matchups. Defense can still be on display in Game 4 and the over still cash with the total sitting relatively low.
