Goran Dragic hit 9-of-15 shots, two 3-pointers and 7-of-7 free throws on his way to 27 points, six rebounds, five assists, a steal and just two turnovers in Monday's 115-104 Game 1 win over the Bucks. Dragic's game will probably be lost in all the Jimmy Butler headlines, but he was money tonight. Butler and Dragic carried the Heat tonight, while Bam Adebayo chipped in with 12 points, 17 rebounds, six assists and two steals in the win. Dragic has really stepped up since replacing Kendrick Nunn in the starting lineup on Aug. 18 for the start of the playoffs and has scored at least 20 points in all five of those games, all of which have been Heat wins.
Milwaukee Bucks DFS Spin
Giannis Antetokounmpo hit 6-of-12 shots, two 3-pointers and 4-of-12 free throws for 18 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists, a steal, a block and six turnovers in Monday's 115-104 Game 1 loss to the Heat. Jae Crowder, Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler were harassing Giannis all night and the Bucks were led by Khris Middleton's 28 points and 24 from Brook Lopez, who hit 8-of-10 shots, as a result. The Bucks were in the see-saw game until the end, but Jimmy Butler took over and hit a dagger with 3:00 minutes left on the clock and the Bucks were never able to find an answer. The Bucks lost Game 1 against the Magic in Round 1 but went on to win the next four in a row, but this Heat team is a different animal. Mike Budenholser will go back to the drawing board and try to find a way to get more out of Giannis in the offense (and he'll have to start making some free throws), while also figuring out how to limit Butler and the Heat offense. Game 2 is set for Wednesday at 6:30.
NBA Playoffs Heat vs. Bucks Game 2 Betting Prediction
As the Rotoworld blurb mentioned above, the Heat did a phenomenal job on Giannis in Game 1. That wasn’t anything new either, as the Heat also defended him well in two of the three regular-season meetings between the two clubs. If Budenholser doesn’t figure out a way to free up his star, or if Giannis’ teammates can’t make Miami pay more for paying so much attention to him, then the Bucks could find themselves in a deep hole.
Granted, Milwaukee rebounded nicely versus the Magic in the Orlando series and it wouldn’t surprise me to see the Bucks find a way to even up the series tonight with a win. That said, the Heat are the play again tonight. There’s too much value in them catching five points, especially given the way they play defense. If Butler can stay hot, I also wouldn’t put it past Miami to take a 2-0 series lead. Either way, I’m taking the points in Game 2.
