NBA Rookie of the Year Odds
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) - With the 2015 NBA Draft in the rearview mirror, the 2016 NBA Rookie of the Year odds have been posted and Jahlil Okafor has opened as the favorite.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Okafor has opened as a 7/2 favorite to win the 2016 NBA Rookie of the Year. D'Angelo Russell has the next best odds at 4/1, while Karl-Anthony Towns and Emmanuel Mudiay are both 7/1, respectively. Justise Winslow is 9/1.
Towns was the first player taken in this year's draft when the Timberwolves selected him with their top pick. The Lakers then selected Russell with the second overall pick before the 76ers nabbed Okafor with the third selection. Kristaps Porzingis, who is a 25/1 long shot to win the 2016 NBA Rookie of the Year, was taken fourth overall by the Knicks.
Some of the other long shots include Joel Embiid at 10/1, Mario Hezonja at 16/1 and Willie Cauley-Stein and Jerian Grant at 22/1, respectively. Embiid was selected with the third overall pick by the 76ers last year but missed the entire 214-15 season due to a broken navicular bone in his foot.
