2016 Eastern Conference Odds
LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – Will the disappointment of not winning the NBA Finals push the Cleveland Cavaliers to retaining the Eastern Conference championship next season?
According to online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cavaliers are the clear favorite to win the East next season, as they have 1/2 odds. Other short odds to win are the Chicago Bulls (13/2) and the Atlanta Hawks (13/1).
The Cavaliers won the Eastern Conference despite injuries to Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving along the way. Cleveland has now won two conference titles in franchise history. LeBron should be back next season, but Kevin Love may not.
The Bulls fell to the Cavaliers in the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs this year. Chicago has won the conference title six times, last doing so in 1998. Chicago has a new coach for next season in Fred Hoiberg.
The Hawks were swept in the conference finals by the Cavaliers this year. Atlanta had the top record in the East this past season. Atlanta has won four conference titles in franchise history, last winning in 1961 as part of the Western Conference.
