Paul ruled out for Game 6
Despite winning Game 5 by a score of 98-94 on their home floor, the Rockets suffered a major loss for Game 6 as point guard Chris Paul strained his hamstring in the latter stages. He will be unavailable for Game 6 and if necessary, his Game 7 status is in doubt. Paul was fantastic in the win as he accounted for 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Eric Gordon scored a team-high 24 points off the bench, while James Harden added 19. The Warriors also have an injury of not with small forward Andre Iguodala missing the last two games with a knee ailment. He is questionable to play tonight.
Thompson plays well through injury
Golden State shooting guard Klay Thompson suffered a leg injury in Game 4 after a hard fall to the floor and eventually returned to action, but was ineffective for the most part. He was questionable for Game 5, but ultimately played. Thompson showed no ill effects as he scored 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting, connecting on 4-of-7 3-points. He had four rebounds and an assist. Kevin Durant scored a game-high 29 points to lead the way in the defeat, while Steph Curry scored 22.
NBA Betting Trends
Houston
The under is 4-0 in the last four Rockets road games. The under is 5-1 in the last six meetings.
Golden State
The Warriors are 6-1 ATS in their last seven Saturday games. The under is 7-1 in the last eight Golden State games overall.
Prediction:
Paul's absence is massive and a lot more responsibility will fall on Harden's shoulders. Harden is capable of breaking out of the shooting slump he has been in recently at any given time, but it will be tougher with more defensive attention due to Paul not providing support. Golden State takes advantage of opponent weakness as well as anyone and in front of its home crowd tonight, I think this game has blowout written all over it.
