Harden, Paul guide way to win
Rockets shooting guard James Harden poured in 30 points, while point guard Chris Paul added another 27 to provide much of the offense in Tuesday night's 95-92 victory at Golden State in Game 4. Harden did not have his best shooting night in the defensive battle as he shot 11-of-26 from the floor including 3-of-12 from 3-point range. He was a perfect 5-of-5 at the free throw line. Paul was more efficient at 10-of-20 from the field and 5-of-9 from 3-point distance, although he did miss two of his four free throw attempts. Eric Gordon was the only other Houston player in double figures as he scored 14 off the bench. Houston overcame a rough start where it trailed 12-0 out of the gates and did not score in the game's first five minutes.
Iguodala, Thompson both questionable
After playing fantastic basketball in Game 3, Warriors small forward Andre Iguodala missed the last game with a knee injury. He played an instrumental role in the Game 3 126-85 win by Golden State as he acccounted for 10 points, three assists, three rebounds and three steals. Iguodala is listed as questionable tonight. Also questionable and of even greater importance is shooting guard Klay Thompson, who had to leave Game 4 after landing hard and straining his left knee. He eventually returned, but was limited in what he could do and finished with only 10 points. For the postseason, Thompson is averaging 19.4 points which is a tick down from his regular season average of 20.0. Thompson is offiicially listed as questionable as well. On the Rockets, Paul is expected to play as he is listed as probable with a foot injury.
NBA Betting Trends
Golden State
The under is 6-1 in the last seven Golden State games overall. The Warriors are 10-4 ATS in the last 14 meetings in Houston.
Houston
The under is 5-0 in the last five Rockets games on a Thursday. Houston is 6-1 ATS in its last seven games played on one day of rest.
Prediction:
This has been a back-and-forth series through four games and Game 4 finally provided us with one that was close, with a Steph Curry missed 3-pointer in the final second keeping it from overtime. With Golden State a little more banged up, I'm going to take my chances on Houston carving out a way to a win in front of a home audience. Harden and Paul seem locked in right now and I don't imagine that will change tonight.
