Harden, Rockets give lackluster effort
Houston guard James Harden scored 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting Sunday night as the Rockets were throttled 126-85 in Game 3 by the Warriors. The next-closest in the scoring department were Clint Capela and Chris Paul as both scored 13. Paul added 10 rebounds, four assists, two blocked shots and a steal for a double-double. Eric Gordon added 11 off the bench. Houston only shot 32-of-81 from the floor in the loss including 11-of-34 from 3-point range. The Rockets also committed 19 turnovers, compared to only eight for Golden State.
Curry heats up
Golden State point guard Steph Curry actually started Game 3 shooting cold from the floor again, but quickly caught fire as he finished with 35 points on 13-of-23 shooting. He went 5-of-12 on 3-point attempts. All five Warriors starters were in double figures in scoring with Kevin Durant putting in 25 on 9-of-19 shooting. Klay Thompson scored 13, while Draymond Green had a double-double of 10 points and 17 boards. Andre Iguodala also had 10 points to go with three rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block. Iguodala (knee) is doubtful to play tonight. Quinn Cook put in 11 points off the bench.
NBA Betting Trends
Houston
The Rockets are 5-1 ATS in their last six games on one day of rest. Houston is 2-5 ATS in its last seven meetings at Golden State.
Golden State
The Warriors are 13-6 ATS in the last 19 meetings. The under is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings.
Prediction:
As bad as Houston looked in Game 3, it had too fantastic of a season overall to play so poorly two games in a row. Most people seem to be gravitating toward betting on the Warriors here because of the Game 3 eye test, but I'm sticking to my guns and believe the Rockets will bounce back with an impressive effort. They might not win, but an 8.5-point cushion is sufficient enough for me to have a lot of interest in making the bet.
