Celtics thrashed again
Boston was soundly beaten by Milwaukee at home in Game 4, losing 113-101 to fall behind 3-1 in the series. The Celtics haven’t covered in any of the three losses. Boston is now 54-36 on the season, 24-21 on the road, 43-45-2 against the spread and 50-40 with the over.
The Celtics continued their offensive woes in Game 4, shooting just 34 of 90 from the field and 9 of 41 from the arc. Kyrie Irving took some criticism as he was 7 of 22 shooting for 23 points, but he felt he should have shot more. He did finished with six rebounds and 10 assists. Al Horford added 20 points and six rebounds while Marcus Morris had 18 points with 14 rebounds. Boston had just seven bench points in the game.
Bucks hitting their stride
Since the loss in Game 1, Milwaukee has looked like the much stronger team in this series. They have won and covered the spread in the last three games and they are now 7-1 against the spread in these playoffs. The Bucks are 67-23 overall, 36-9 at home, 54-32-4 against the spread and 47-43 with the over.
Milwaukee didn’t have all that impressive shooting numbers either, going 44 of 100 from the field and 8 of 37 from the arc, but the Bucks did have 56 rebounds and committed just seven turnovers in Game 4. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 39 points with 16 rebounds on 15 of 22 shooting. He George Hill scored 15 points and had five assists off the bench while Khris Middleton had 13 points with seven assists.
NBA Betting Trends
Boston
The Celtics are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven road games, but 2-5 ATS in their last seven games following a loss.
Milwaukee
The Bucks are 5-1 ATS in their last six games following a win and 39-17-3 ATS in their last 59 conference games.
Prediction:
The Celtics looked like a team that lost their heart in Game 4. They were beaten by the better team and it looked like Boston had accepted their fate. The Bucks didn’t even shoot well and still won comfortably. Middleton couldn’t hit anything and I would expect that to change at home today. The Bucks are likely to put up a big offensive number and I just don’t see Boston being able to score at that pace.
NBA Prediction: Milwaukee Bucks -9
