Bucks take 2-1 lead

The Milwaukee Bucks took a 2-1 lead in the series on Friday with a 123-116 win at Boston in Game 3. Milwaukee has won and covered the spread in six of its seven playoff games. The Bucks are 66-23 on the season, 30-14 on the road, 53-32-4 against the spread and 47-42 with the over.

Milwaukee put up 40 points in the third quarter of Game 2, leading it to the victory. The Bucks shot 42 of 83 from the field in the win and 15 of 37 from the arc. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 32 points with 13 rebounds, eight assists and three blocks to lead Milwaukee to the win. Khris Middleton added 20 points while George Hill scored 21 off the bench.

Celtics struggle in the third

Boston had another down third quarter lead to a loss in Game 3 on Friday. The Celtics have lost and failed to cover in two straight. Boston is now 54-35 on the season, 30-14 at home, 43-44-2 against the spread and 50-39 with the over.

The Celtics couldn’t keep up with Milwaukee’s scoring in the in the second half and that led to the loss. Boston still hit 16 3-pointers in the game, but committed 17 turnovers. Kyrie Irving led the Celtics with 29 points and six assists while Jayson Tatum added 20 points with 11 rebounds. Boston had just 16 bench points while Milwaukee had 42.

NBA Betting Trends

Milwaukee

The Bucks are 5-1 against the spread in their last six Monday games and 19-6-1 ATS in their last 26 road games.

Boston

The Celtics are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 Monday games and 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 home games.

Prediction:

Boston taught Milwaukee a hard lesson in Game 1, but the Bucks showed they are a legit title contender by making adjustments and taking the next two games. Milwaukee has adapted to Boston’s physical style and found a way to overwhelm them with their athleticism and speed. The Celtics’ defensive strength has disappeared in the last two games. I don’t see it changing now that Milwaukee is rolling. All Boston can do is hope the Bucks stop hitting their outside shots. While that could happen, I will take my chances with the Bucks.

NBA Prediction: Milwaukee Bucks +1.5
