Warriors falter late

Golden State suffered its first loss in this series on Saturday, losing to the Rockets 126-121 in OT thanks to some miscues down the stretch. Golden State is now 63-28 on the season, 30-15 on the road, 39-51-1 against the spread and 47-44 with the under.

The Warriors didn’t shoot too bad in Game 3, as they were 14 of 33 from the arc, but they still didn’t get the kind of production they were expecting out of some of their stars. Kevin Durant dominated for Golden State, putting up 46 points and six assists while Draymond Green had 19 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Stephen Curry really made some key defensive errors and also missed a wide-open lay-in in the closing seconds when he attempted a dunk instead. Curry was 7 of 23 from the field and 2 of 9 from the arc in the loss, finishing with 17 points.

Rockets looking to pull even

The Houston Rockets got themselves on the board in the series with the OT win on Saturday. They now trail Golden State 2-1, but they have covered in two of the three games thus far.. Houston is now 58-32 on the season, 35-10 at home, 45-42-3 against the spread and 46-42-2 with the under.

The Rockets continued to hit a lot of 3-pointers in Game 3. They finished 18 of 42 from the arc. James Harden had another monster game, scoring 41 points while adding nine rebounds and six assists. Eric Gordon added 30 points on 11 of 20 shooting while Clint Capela had 13 points with 11 rebounds and Christ Paul had 14 points with eight rebounds and seven assists.

Prediction:

This is the game where we see what both teams are made of. Quite frankly, Golden State should be up 3-0 in this series. I feel the Warriors beat themselves as opposed to the Rockets really imposing their will. Curry has been widely criticized for the last two days, as he should be. He has really not been good in this series while Durant has carried the team to two wins. I think Curry is going to have a much better game tonight because he knows he hasn’t played to his level. Golden State can still get better while Houston may be topping out. I am going to side with the defending champs to step up and win this big road game to take control of the series.
