Raptors drop struggle offensively again

Toronto fell behind 2-1 in the series following a 116-95 loss at Philadelphia on Thursday. The Raptors are now 63-27 on the season, 28-16 on the road, 42-48 against the spread and 45-42-3 with the over.

The Raptors only had nine turnovers as a team in Game 3, but they were just 35 of 83 from the field and 7 of 27 from the arc. Kawhi Leonard continued to shine, as he had 33 points in the loss. However, he had little to no help from his fellow starters. Pascal Siakam had 20 points, but suffered a calf injury that has him doubtful to play today. Kyle Lowry had another letdown showing, putting up just seven points on 2 of 10 shooting.

76ers cruise in Game 3

Philadelphia earned its second straight win and cover in this series on Thursday. The 76ers have now won and covered in six of their last seven games. Philadelphia is 57-33 overall, 34-11 at home, 44-46 against the spread and 45-45 with the over/under total.

The 76ers had a 45-35 edge on the glass in Thursday’s victory and they shot 43 of 84 from the field and 10 of 23 from the arc. Joel Embiid had a much more impactful offensive game at home, putting up 33 points with 10 rebounds and five blocks. He has been battling a knee issue, but looked his best in Game 3. Jimmy Butler added 22 points, nine rebounds and nine assists in the win while Tobias Harris had 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists.

NBA Betting Trends

Toronto

The Raptors are 5-0 against the spread in their last five following a loss of more than 10 points, but just 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 conference semifinal games.

Philadelphia

The 76ers are 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games, but 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games following a win of more than 10 points.

Prediction:

Leonard has been playing his heart out, but the Raptors just haven’t given him enough support. Siakam actually has played well, but now he is not expected to go today. You just can’t count on guys like Lowry, Ibaka and Gasol right now. Philadelphia just has too many scoring options in comparison to this Toronto squad. I think Philly is going to overwhelm Toronto at home once again and go up big in the series.

NBA Prediction: Philadelphia 76ers -2
