Raptors drop Game 2
Toronto fell at home in Game 2, 94-89, to have the series pull even at 1-1 heading over to Philadelphia tonight for Game 3. The Raptors are 63-26 on the season, 28-15 on the road, 42-47 against the spread and 45-41-3 with the over.
The Raptors really struggled on offense in Game 2, going just 33 of 90 from the field and 10 of 37 from the arc. They were also out-rebounded 52-36. Kawhi Leonard still had a solid game, putting up 35 points with seven rebounds and six assists while Pascal Siakam had 21 points with seven rebounds and four steals. Kyle Lowry added 20 points and five assists. The Toronto bench produced just five points.
76ers bounce back
Philadelphia was able to grind out a 94-89 win on Monday despite not being strong on offense again. The 76ers were an 8-point underdog in the game and they have won and covered in five of their last six games. Philadelphia is 56-33 overall, 33-11 at home, 43-46 against the spread and 45-44 with the over.
The 76ers were only 30 of 76 shooting from the field and 10 of 35 shooting from 3-point land, but they were 24 of 26 from the line. Joel Embiid was not much of an offensive factor, as he had just 12 points and six rebounds, but he still had an impact defensively just by keeping Toronto out of the paint. Jimmy Butler stepped up, putting up 30 points with 10 rebounds and five assists while Tobias Harris had nine points and 11 rebounds.
NBA Betting Trends
Toronto
The Raptors are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight road games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following a loss.
Philadelphia
The 76ers are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 Thursday games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight conference semifinal games.
Prediction:
The trend so far through two games is Philadelphia is having trouble scoring on Toronto. The Raptors have been able to give the 76ers issues and clearly Embiid is playing less than 100 percent. With the series moving to Philadelphia, certainly you would expect their offensive numbers to improve, but that is not a given. On the season, Philly averages three points more at home. I think the 76ers will shoot the ball well tonight and Toronto is going to have some issues scoring in the paint again. Philly may be the better team overall, so I will take them as a home underdog.
NBA Prediction: Philadelphia 76ers +1.5
