Nets drop third straight

Brooklyn suffered a 112-108 loss at home in Game 4 back on Saturday to fall behind 3-1 in the series. The Nets have failed to cover in all three losses as well. The Nets are now 43-43 on the season, 20-23 on the road, 46-40 against the spread and 43-43 with the over/under total.

The Nets have struggled with defense in this series, but their offense was an issue in Game 4. Brooklyn was just 36 of 90 from the floor and 12 of 38 from the arc. D’Angelo Russell and Jarrett Allen each had 21 points in the loss while Caris LeVert each had 25 points. LeVert and Russell also each had six assists. Spencer Dinwiddie added 18 points off the bench, but didn’t have an assist.

76ers grind out a win

After a pair of lopsided wins in Games 2 and 3, the 76ers grinded out a 4-point win in Game 4 to put the Nets on the brink of elimination. Philly is now 54-32 on the season, 32-11 at home, 41-45 against the spread and 45-41 with the over.

The 76ers were able to dominate the glass in Game 4, putting up a 56-41 rebounding advantage on the road. Joel Embiid dealt with his knee injury and tallied 31 points with 16 rebounds, seven assists and six blocks. Tobias Harris added 24 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Ben Simmons chipped in with 15 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.

Prediction:

The 76ers have been the better team in this series and have found ways to win when not even playing terribly well. Philly didn’t shoot the ball well in Game 4 and still found a way to win and cover. Philly has definitely gotten under the skin of Brooklyn and the Nets are letting themselves get a little too emotional. Their defense has been lackluster in this series and I think it will be an issue again tonight.
