According to oddsmakers, the Jazz are favored at home in this game, as they are getting odds of -2.5 points against the Rockets. The over/under total is listed at 215.5 points. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Rockets roll again

The Rockets took a 2-0 series lead on Wednesday with a 118-98 win over Utah. Houston has outscored the Jazz by 52 points over the first two games of the series and they have won eight of their last nine, all by double digits. The Rockets are now 55-29 on the season, 22-19 on the road, 42-39-3 against the spread and 42-40-2 with the under.

Despite committing 18 turnovers, the Rockets continued to cruise in Game 2, hitting 17 3-pointers as a squad while getting to the line 30 times. James Harden had another triple-double of 32 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. Chris Paul added 17 points while PJ Tucker and Eric Gordon each scored 16 for the Rockets.

Jazz lose third straight

With the regular-season finale, Utah has dropped three straight and four of their last five games coming into tonight. The Jazz are 50-34 on the season, 29-12 at home, 44-38-2 against the spread and 43-40-1 with the under.

The Jazz continued to struggle shooting in Game 2, going just 39 of 98 from the field and 8 of 38 from the arc. Donovan Mitchell had another quiet game, scoring just 11 points on 5 of 19 shooting, including just 1 of 8 from 3-point land. Ricky Rubio had 17 points and nine assists to lead the team while Derrick Favors had 14 points with 12 rebounds and Rudy Gobert had 11 points and 12 boards.

NBA Betting Trends

Houston

The Rockets are 8-1-1 against the spread in their last 10 conference games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following a win of more than 10 points.

Utah

The Jazz have failed to cover in four straight conference quarterfinal games and they are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games when playing on 2 days of rest.

Prediction:

While Utah is an improved team at home and will likely play better than it has shown in this series thus far, Houston is really locked in and playing as well as anyone in the league right now. The Rockets are playing very efficient on offense and they actually are playing some solid defense. Utah isn’t a high-scoring team and that Jazz can’t afford to let the Rockets pick up steam on offense. I just don’t think there is much the Jazz can do to stop Harden and company right now. Houston already owns a 27-point win at Utah this season. I think the Rockets could get another lopsided win tonight.

NBA Prediction: Houston Rockets +2.5
