Cleveland established a 2-0 series lead when it picked up a 117-111 win at home in Game 2. While the Cavs have won the first two games of the series, the Pacers managed to cover the spread in both contests. Indiana comes into today 42-42 overall, 29-12 at home and 41-42-1 against the spread. Cleveland is 53-31 overall, 20-21 on the road and 36-45-3 against the spread.
The Cavs led pretty comfortable for most of Game 2, but the Pacers put together a 33-20 fourth to find a way to cover. Both teams continued to put up an impressive shooting performance, as Cleveland was 42-of-76 from the floor while Indiana went 43-of-84. Cleveland managed the win despite having 18 turnovers as well. Kyrie Irving scored 37 points in the win while LeBron James had 25 points with 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Paul George led Indiana with 32 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists.
While the Pacers are at home, I don’t like such a small spread. Cleveland isn’t a team I expect to lose just because it went on the road. The Cavs could have performed better late in Game 2, but they were still in tune enough to get the W. I expect the Cavs to have the same approach tonight. Cleveland has the better scoring options and can still be a respectable defensive team when it needs to be. Look for the Cavs to take care of business on the road and win by at least 3 points.
