Public Betting Trends

According to oddsmakers, the 76ers are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -3 points against the Nets. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 227.5 points. The public betting for the contest has 63 percent going on Philadelphia as the road favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

76ers even series

Philadelphia evened the series with a 145-123 win at home in Game 2 on Monday night. The 76ers have alternated wins and losses over their last six games. Philly is 52-32 on the season, 20-21 on the road, 39-45 against the spread and 44-40 with the over.

The 76ers shot the lights out in Game 2, posting 51 points in the third quarter. They were 55 of 98 from the field and also hit nine 3-pointers. Joel Embiid battled through his knee injury and had 23 points with 10 rebounds while Ben Simmons had 18 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. Tobias Harris added 19 points and five assists. Embiid comes into tonight’s game listed as questionable again, but he was also listed as questionable for the first two games in the series.

Nets forget their defense

Brooklyn had its four-game win streak come to and end in Monday’s loss to the 76ers on the road. The loss also ended a four-game cover streak for the Nets. Brooklyn is now 43-41 on the season, 23-18 at home, 46-38 against the spread and 42-42 with the over/under total.

The Nets actually shot the ball pretty well in Game 2, they just had a complete lack of defense. Brooklyn was 43 of 90 from the field and 15 of 36 from the arc. The Nets were outrebounded 49-32 in the loss as well. D’Angelo Russell put up 16 points in the loss, but it was the Brooklyn bench that really did most of the damage. The starters combined for just 43 points in the game. Spencer Dinwiddie led the team in scoring with 19 points while Rondae Hollis-Jefferson had 15 points.

NBA Betting Trends

Philadelphia

The 76ers are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven road games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a win.

Brooklyn

The Nets are 4-1 against the spread in their last five conference games and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games following a loss of more than 10 points.

Prediction:

The Nets have to find some defense if they hope to compete in this series. Giving up 51 points in a quarter isn’t going to fly. Brooklyn has been a better team at home this season and they covered in both meetings at home with Philly this season. The 76ers haven’t had the same offense on the road and Embiid may not have the same bounce in his step away from home. I think Brooklyn will come out really motivated for its first home game in the series and be able to grab the upset tonight.

NBA Prediction: Brooklyn Nets +3
