Warriors fall apart

Golden State looked to have everything in control in Game 2, leading by 31 points in the third quarter before allowing the Clippers to get back in the game and steal a 135-131 victory. Golden State is now 58-26 on the season, 27-14 on the road, 36-47-1 against the spread and 45-39 with the under.

The Warriors took another blow in the Game-2 loss, as center DeMarcus Cousins suffered a quad tear that will have him out indefinitely. Golden State had 22 turnovers in Monday’s loss and pulled down just 38 rebounds. Stephen Curry led the team with 29 points while Kevin Durant had 21 points and five rebounds. Kevon Looney scored 19 points off the bench in place of Cousins.

Clippers shock the world

The Clippers shocked the world by upsetting the Warriors in Game 2, 135-131. The win snapped a five-game failed cover streak for Los Angeles. The Clippers are now 49-35 on the season, 26-15 at home, 46-37-1 against the spread and 46-37-1 with the over.

Los Angeles put up 85 points in the second half of Monday’s game and the Clippers finished the game 48 of 85 from the field and 14 of 31 from the arc. They continued to get huge bench points as Lou Williams put up 36 points and 11 assists while Montrezl Harrell had 25 points with 10 rebounds. Danilo Gallinari added 24 points and six rebounds for the Clippers.

NBA Betting Trends

Golden State

The Warriors are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games on 2 days of rest and 27-10 ATS in their last 37 conference quarterfinal games.

Los Angeles

The Clippers are 1-5 ATS in their last six conference games and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 conference quarterfinal games.

Prediction:

The Warriors saw what can happen when they lose focus, suffering an embarrassing loss on Monday. They have now had to hear all about it for a few days and that should have them coming out tonight looking to make a big statement. The Clippers certainly should have some confidence returning home, but we have seen them be completely overwhelmed for three of the four halves in this series. When Golden State is on its game, the Warriors are the far better team. Losing Cousins shouldn’t matter this series, as the Warriors have won the last two years without him anyway.

NBA Prediction: Golden State Warriors -8.5
