Simmons backing up words
Aside from hitting a 3-pointer, there isn't much Philadelphia point guard Ben Simmons can't do on the basketball court. He has spearheaded the Sixers' 15-game winning streak and is the clear favorite ahead of Utah's Donovan Mitchell and LA's Kyle Kuzma for Rookie of the Year honors. Simmons had an average game last time out in a 121-113 win at the Hawks but still managed 14 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, two steals and a block over 29 minutes. With center Joel Embiid out of the lineup, he has really taken his game up a notch to ensure Philadelphia continued rolling. He is averaging 15.9 points, 8.2 assists and 8.2 rebounds per game. It is going to be very entertaining watching Simmons and (fingers crossed) Embiid debut in the playoffs very soon.
Bucks' seeding unsettled
Milwaukee currently has a game lead on the Heat and Wizards for the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference, but a loss coupled with wins by the other two could drop the Bucks into the eighth seed. It has been a strange season for Milwaukee that included the firing of previous head coach Jason Kidd, but it's still not a team anyone is looking forward to facing in the postseason. When you have Giannis Antetokounmpo on your roster, you automatically have a matchup nightmare for any opponent. Coupled with guards Eric Bledsoe and Khris Middleton, the Bucks have three proven producers that could make them a prime pick to pull off an upset if the opponent is right.
NBA Betting Trends
Milwaukee
The Bucks are 0-6 ATS in their last six Monday games. Milwaukee is 4-0 ATS in its last four road games. The over is 4-0 in the last four Bucks road games.
Philadelphia
Philadelphia is 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings with Milwaukee. The 76ers are 14-2 ATS in their last 16 games against opponents with a losing road record. Philadelphia is 1-4 ATS in its last five games following an ATS loss.
Prediction:
The 76ers have come too far to not end the regular season with a victory. They have plenty of motivation as Cleveland is all but guaranteed to beat the Knicks tonight, meaning Philly must win its game in order to ensure its spot as the third seed. Sixteen wins in a row to finish the regular season would be crazy for a team that has played the majority of the streak without Embiid. A win over the Bucks is a tall task, but at home in front of a crowd that is playoff-ready after years of patience will propel the Sixers tonight.
