Pacers end skid
Indiana is coming off a 111-102 win over the Pistons on Monday at home to snap a three-game losing streak. Indiana is just 3-5 against the spread in its last eight games. The Pacers are 46-32 on the season, 17-22 on the road, 39-39 against the spread and 44-34 with the under. Indy is fifth in the East right now, but tied with Boston for the fourth position.
The Pacers are one of the top defensive teams in the NBA, allowing just 104.3 points per game while holding opponents to 45 percent shooting. Indiana is putting up 108.0 points per game while shooting 47.6 percent from the floor. Both Wesley Matthews and Darren Collison are out for today’s game. Bojan Bogdanovic is leading the team with 18.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game while Domantas Sabonis is adding 14.1 points and 9.3 rebounds per contest.
Pistons need the win
Detroit is coming off a loss to the Pacers on Monday. They also failed to cover the spread which ended a 5-0-1 run ATS. The Pistons are now 39-38 on the season, 25-23 at home, 40-34-3 against the spread and 39-38 with the under. Detroit is sixth in the East right now, ½ a game above Brooklyn and 1.5 games ahead of Orlando, which is in ninth.
The Pistons are allowing 107.5 points per game this season while opponents shoot 47 percent against them. Offensively, Detroit is putting up 107.4 points per game while shooting 44.2 percent from the field. Blake Griffin has missed the last two games for Detroit with a knee injury and is questionable to play tonight. Griffin averages 24.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game to lead the team while Andre Drummond adds 17.3 points and 15.5 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Indiana
The Pacers are 5-16 against the spread in their last 21 road games and 3-12 ATS in their last 15 road games against a team with a winning home record.
Detroit
The Pistons have covered the spread in 11 straight home games and in five straight following a loss.
Prediction:
The Pistons have been able to do well at home, but Griffin being hurt doesn’t help their chances. If Detroit is going to do well tonight, they likely will need their leader. However, Detroit did manage a win over the Blazers at home last weekend without Griffin. Indiana hasn’t been very steady on the road and also has some injuries to deal with. Keep an eye on the injury report, but I still think the Pistons could cover without Griffin, so the odds could increase if he plays. May want to jump on them now.
NBA Prediction: Detroit Pistons -1.5
