Detroit opened as a 4.5-point favorite, while the the total has dropped after opening at 215. The Pistons are a 5.5-point favorite almost everywhere, but can be bet at -5 at some books. The total is at 213.5 at most sportsbooks, yet is seen as high as 214.5.

INJURY TO WATCH

Lakers power forward Julius Randle (ankle), power forward Channing Frye (appendix) and shooting guard Josh Hart (hand) are all questionable to play. Point guard Isaiah Thomas (hip) is out. Small forward Brandon Ingram (hip flexor) is out until early April. For the Pistons, small forward Stanley Johnson (buttocks) is out until early April. Power forward Jon Leuer (ankle) is out for the season.

BETTING STRATEGY

Detroit can't afford any losses if it wants to keep its playoff hopes alive as they are 5.5 games back of the eighth seed with nine games to play. In other words, the Pistons are toast. But expect them to still play hard as long as there is the smallest of chances. Detroit has won three of its last four with the only defeat being a 100-98 loss at the Rockets. The Lakers ended a four-game losing skid via a 100-93 victory at Memphis. Take the Pistons here as they have more incentive to win games right now.
