Pelicans prevail in OT

New Orleans claimed a 129-125 victory in overtime Monday night at Dallas to improve to 31-42 overall and 13-25 on the road. The Pelicans trailed 59-49 at halftime before outscoring the Mavericks 35-20 in the third, but squandered the lead in the fourth and proceeded to clinch the win by outscoring the hosts 19-15 in OT. Julius Randle paced New Orleans with 30 points on 14-of-24 shooting including 2-of-4 from 3-point distance. He also notched nine rebounds and four assists. Anthony Davis tallied 20 points, six rebounds and five assists. Elfrid Payton secured his fifth straight triple-double with 19 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. The Magic shot 33-of-85 from the field, 9-of-37 from 3-point range plus 26-of-33 at the free throw line. Nikola Vucevic paced Orlando with 27 points on 10-of-20 from the field plus 7-of-7 at the charity stripe. He also notched 20 rebounds, three assists and three steals. NBA Betting Trends

New Orleans

The Pelicans are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games. New Orleans is 1-6 ATS in its last seven games overall.

Orlando

The Magic are 7-2 ATS in their last seven home games. Orlando is 2-6 ATS in its last eight Wednesday games.

Prediction:

Are we supposed to trust the Magic here? Even with how dysfunctional New Orleans is these days, I have a difficult time expecting the Magic to roll when they are a sub.500 team on the season and have lost to some of the NBA's worst teams. The Pelicans have showed some fight the last couple games despite some boneheaded on-court decisions. Look for another tight game here as Orlando is playing with some pressure knowing the playoffs are on the line.
