Warriors vs. Spurs Prediction
Will the Golden State Warriors cover the point spread Monday night as a heavy road underdog when they visit the San Antonio Spurs at 9:30 p.m. ET?
Monday, March 19, 2018
TV: ESPN, 9:30 p.m. ET
San Antonio opened as 6.5-point home favorites so the line has not moved off the original number. The total has moved only slightly, going from 206 up to 206.5
As of this writing, 69% of the betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Spurs to cover the spread. Meanwhile, 93% of the betting tickets are also on the over tonight.
KEY INJURY TO WATCH
The Warriors will once again be without Kevin Durant (rib), Klay Thompson (thumb) and Stephen Curry (ankle). The Spurs are still without Kawhi Leonard (quad).
Even without the trio of Durant, Thompson and Curry, this is too many points to lay to a talented Golden State team that has a nice bench. The Warriors have also owned this matchup from a betting standpoint, cashing in four straight games against the Spurs in San Antonio and in five of their last six games overall. The road team has had success in this series too, covering in four of the last five meetings. Meanwhile, the Spurs are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game and are 1-4 at the betting window in their last five games coming off a win of more than 10 points.
OUR PREDICTION: GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS +6.5
