Pistons edge Raptors

Detroit used a big fourth quarter Sunday evening to earn a 110-107 home victory over Toronto, its ninth consecutive home win. The Pistons (36-33) went into the fourth quarter trailing 84-78, but outscored the Raptors 32-23 over the final 12 minutes. Detroit shot 39-of-83 from the floor, 8-of-27 from 3-point distance plus 24-of-27 at the free throw line in the winning effort. Blake Griffin paced the Pistons with 25 points on 9-of-21 shooting including 4-of-8 from 3-point range plus 3-of-5 at the charity stripe. He also contributed eight rebounds and three assists. Reggie Jackson notched 20 points, four assists plus two boards. Andre Drummond added 15 points, 17 caroms plus two steals.

Cavs drop third straight

Cleveland lost by a score of 121-116 Saturday night at Dallas to drop to 17-53 on the season. The Cavaliers trailed 100-88 through three quarters and their rally in the fourth quarter fell short. Cleveland shot 40-of-87 from the field, 15-of-38 from 3-point distance plus 21-of-22 at the free throw line. Collin Sexton paced the Cavaliers with 28 points on 10-of-17 shooting including 4-of-7 from 3-point range plus 4-of-5 at the free throw line. He also tallied four assists and three rebounds. Kevin Love accounted for 22 points, 12 boards and four assists. Cedi Osman added 22 points, four dimes and three rebounds.

NBA Betting Trends

Detroit

The Pistons are 4-0 ATS in their last four games versus the Central Division. Detroit is 7-2 ATS in its last nine games overall.

Cleveland

The Cavaliers are 6-14 ATS in their last 20 games versus the Central Division. Cleveland is 0-4-1 ATS in its last five games playing on one day of rest.

Prediction:

Detroit looked strong at home Sunday while benefiting from a couple key Toronto players - Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka - not playing. On a back-to-back at Cleveland, I worry the same intensity will be there. The Pistons looked like junk in their last two road games and even if they win here, it could easily be by not enough to cover this spread. The Cavs have been weirdly competitive lately and have won their last two at home straight up including a 25-point win over the Raptors. I'm going to take the points with the hosts here.
