New York Knicks DFS Spin

New York point guard Jalen Brunson missed the Knicks’ last game against the Clippers on Saturday with a left foot contusion. He’s officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s tilt with the Lakers. Brunson has been one of New York’s best players this season as he’s putting up 23.8 points and 6.1 assists per game in 34.9 minutes per contest this year.

For a DFS sleeper at shooting guard, consider Jalen Brunson’s former Villanova teammate Josh Hart. In 11 games with New York, Hart is averaging 11 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.4 made three-pointers per game. He has been shooting extremely well since the trade, converting 62.3% of his field goals and 62.5% of his three-point attempts as a Knick. Hart likely won’t start Sunday, but he’s averaging 29.2 minutes per game off the bench for New York this season.

Los Angeles Lakers DFS Spin

Lakers superstar LeBron James will miss Sunday’s game with a foot injury. James hasn’t played since February 26th and he’ll likely be out until the end of March. James is the Lakers’ leading scorer with 29.5 points per game this season.

Both Anthony Davis and D’Angelo Russell are probable for Los Angeles on Sunday. Davis had been dealing with a right foot stress injury and Russell had an ankle injury. If I had to pick one for DFS purposes, I’d choose Anthony Davis. Since LeBron James went out, Davis has recorded at least 28 points in 4 out of 5 games. He will likely see a massive amount of touches and shot attempts against the Knicks on Sunday.

Knicks vs. Lakers NBA Prediction

The New York Knicks are in the middle of a tough west coast road trip because Madison Square Garden was being used for college basketball’s Big East Tournament. The Knicks have already lost games to the Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Clippers on said road trip. They play the Lakers on Sunday, then head up to Portland to face the Blazers on Tuesday. It’s quite possible they could go 0-4 on this road trip as they fall victim to the grind of the NBA regular season.

It’s worth monitoring the status of New York’s Jalen Brunson as he’s one of their best players. If he can’t go that’s a significant loss for the Knicks. For the Lakers, the return of D’Angelo Russell has really helped. Russell had missed over two weeks with a right ankle injury, but he was stellar in his return to the lineup Friday, pouring in 28 points in a 122-112 Lakers win over the Raptors. I think the combination of D’Angelo Russell and Anthony Davis will be too much to handle for the Knicks Sunday, so I’ll lay the points with the Lakers at home.
