Portland Trail Blazers Fantasy Spin

C.J. McCollum made 11-of-14 from the field for 26 points during a blowout 127-120 win over the Suns on Saturday, adding three rebounds, four assists, one block, one steal and four 3-pointers in 30 minutes. It was 24-23 at the end of the first, but the Blazers just poured it on with 42 points in the second quarter and 36 in the third. McCollum has caught fire with four 25-plus scoring games over his last five, averaging 23.8 points, 3.2 boards, 3.4 dimes, 0.8 blocks, 0.6 steals and 3.8 treys. He is getting hot at the right time and it looks like he'll play in 80-plus games for the fourth straight season.

Los Angeles Clippers Fantasy Spin

Montrezl Harrell shot 8-of-12 from the field and 4-of-5 from the foul line Monday vs. Boston, finishing with 20 points, six rebounds, two assists and one steal in 21 minutes. After accounting for eight points and six rebounds in Friday’s win over the Thunder, Harrell managed to get back into double figures in the Clippers’ rout of the Celtics. The fourth-year forward has scored in double figures in six of his last seven games, and over the last five he’s averaging 15.0 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per. Harrell has been a top-75 player in nine-category leagues this season, exceeding the expectations many had for him before the season began.

NBA Betting Trends

The Trail Blazers are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven road games and have covered in seven of their previous 10 games.

Los Angeles

The Clippers are a perfect 7-0 against the spread in their last seven games when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game.

How can you go against these Clippers right now? They’re one of the hottest teams in the league and they continue to be undervalued at the betting window. Yes, the Trail Blazers have been excellent ball of late, but they’re also 1-5 against the number in their last six Western Conference tilts. The Clippers, meanwhile, are 7-0 against the spread in their last seven games overall and cashed in five of their previous five home games. I’m going to ride the hot hand tonight.

Tuesday NBA Prediction: Los Angeles Clippers +2.5
