The spread opened at -13.5 before dropping a couple points, while the total has gone up after opening at 208.5. While the spread seems to have settled at -11.5 at most books, the total can be found at either 211.5 or 212 if you shop around.

As of Monday afternoon, 53 percent of public bets have sided with the visiting Spurs. Online wager info also shows that 61 percent of bets are coming in on the over.

INJURY REPORT

Spurs forward LaMarcus Aldridge (knee) is out tonight as is shooting guard Manu Ginobili (rest). Kawhi Leonard (quadriceps) is nearing a return it sounds like, but he remains out tonight. Rockets star guard James Harden (knee) is expected to play tonight after sitting out the last game. Ryan Anderson (hip flexor) is out indefinitely, while Brandan Wright (knee) is out until late March.

BETTING STRATEGY

The Spurs have been the NBA's most consistently good team over the last two decades, making the playoffs 20 straight years. The streak is in jeapordy this season, however, as San Antonio is clinging on to the seventh seed. The Spurs hold a half-game lead over the eighth seed Clippers plus the Nuggets and Jazz who are on the outside looking ino. It won't get any easier tonight for San Antonio as it plays the team with the NBA's best record in the Rockets, who will likely get Harden back after he sat out the 105-82 win at the Mavericks last night. With Houston on a back-to-back and the Spurs having an extra day of rest, I like the visitors to keep this within the spread line and play with the desperation that their perilous playoff situation requires. Aldridge being out will hurt, but look for Paul Gasol to pick up the slack.
