According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Spurs are 1.5-point favorites to beat the Bucks. The total, meanwhile, sits at 227 points and as of this writing, 56% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Spurs to cover the point spread.
Milwaukee Bucks Fantasy Spin
Giannis Antetokounmpo made 7-of-11 from the field and all 10 from the line for 26 points during a 131-114 win over the Hornets on Saturday, adding 13 rebounds, six assists, one block, five turnovers and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes. The Bucks become the first team to 50 wins this season and they now hold a three-game lead over the Raptors. Perhaps even better news is Antetokounmpo said on Thursday he is feeling much healthier and was asked about his knees. "I feel great," Giannis said. "I feel like a new guy. I went on eBay and I got some new [knees], so I’m good." The Bucks are on the road in San Antonio for a back-to-back set on Sunday, so it's certainly possible coach Mike Budenholzer gives his guys a day off.
San Antonio Spurs Fantasy Spin
LaMarcus Aldridge torched the Hawks for a game-high 32 points on Wednesday, making 11-of-16 field goals and 9-of-11 free throws in 38 minutes. The Spurs have won four straight games to solidify their hold on the No. 8 seed. They're not in the clear yet, though, which should insulate Aldridge and other veterans from precautionary rest. LA added nine rebounds, two blocks, one steal and one 3-pointer tonight, rounding out another terrific fantasy offering.
NBA Betting Trends
Milwaukee
The Bucks are 8-1 against the spread in their last nine road games versus a team with a winning home record.
San Antonio
The Spurs are 3-11 against the spread in their last 14 games after allowing 100 points or more and scoring 100 points or more in their previous game.
Prediction
I’m going to bank on Budenholzer giving Antetokounmpo and some other starters the night off. If instincts are correct, then the Spurs only lay 1.5 points against a makeshift Bucks lineup provides some value, even though Milwaukee has proven its one of the deeper teams in the league. The Spurs are 30-14 against the spread in their last 44 home games, are 13-3 against the number in their last 16 games playing on three or more days of rest and are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games against the Eastern Conference.
Sunday NBA Prediction: San Antonio Spurs -1.5
