Rockets vs. Mavericks Spread Prediction
The Rockets are the hottest team in the NBA, riding a seven-game winning streak that has catapulted them back into the No. 3 spot in the Western Conference. Laying 8 points on the road tonight in Dallas, are the Rockets a good bet to cover the spread versus the Mavs?

Houston Rockets Fantasy Spin
According to Tim MacMahon of ESPN, the X-rays on James Harden's wrist were negative. Harden will get treatment and is expected to play Sunday vs. Dallas. Harden owners can breathe a sigh of relief. The Beard left Friday's win over the Sixers briefly in the first half after falling on the wrist, and then exited the arena prior to speaking with the media in order to undergo a precautionary X-Ray. Over the past three months (40 games), Harden is averaging 40.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 2.1 steals per game.
Dallas Mavericks Fantasy Spin
Luka Doncic 9-of-20 from the field for 24 points during a 111-106 loss to the Magic on Friday, adding eight rebounds, five assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 33 minutes. The Mavs aren't exactly playing their best ball right now, losing 10 of their last 11. On the other hand, Doncic has been productive since returning from his ankle issue, averaging 24.6 points, 8.2 boards, 5.4 dimes, 1.4 steals, 1.0 blocks and 2.6 treys on a 48/35/68 shooting line in his previous games since injury. He's an elite stat-stuffer and just turned 20
NBA Betting Trends
Houston
The Rockets are 2-9 against the spread in their last 11 games coming off an ATS win.
Dallas
The Mavericks have failed to cover the spread in five straight games against the rest of the Western Conference.
Prediction
The Rockets are probably a little overvalued at this number but I’m going to back them anyway. Houston is 4-1 against the spread in its last five games played in Dallas and is 17-8 at the betting window in its last 25 games versus the Mavericks overall. The Rockets have also had some success covering on the road recently, posting a 3-0-1 ATS record away from Houston. The Mavericks, meanwhile, failed to cover the spread in eight of their previous 10 games and are just 2-6 against the number in their last eight games coming off a loss.
