Dallas opened as a 7.5-point favorite before the line moved further in its favor, while the total has gone up slightly from 205.5. The Mavericks are a 9-point favorite at any sportsbook I've looked at, while the total is at 205.5 at most books but can be found at 205 and 206.

PUBLIC BETTING

As of Saturday afternoon, 52 percent of public bets have come in on the visiting Grizzlies. Online wager info also shows that 61 percent of bets have been placed on the under.

INJURY TO WATCH

Memphis shooting guard Tyreke Evans (ribs) is out indefinitely. Point guards Andrew Harrison (wrist) and Mario Chalmers (hamstring) are both ot until mid-March. For the Mavericks, shooting guard Wesley Matthews (hip) has missed the last two games but is probable to play tonight.

BETTING STRATEGY

Memphis has lost 16 games in a row, although it has managed to cover the spread four times in the last 10 contests. Dallas has won two of the three meetings straight up this season, but the last time the two teams met was back in November so a lot has changed since then particularly with the Grizzlies. With many backcourt players out, Memphis is basically signing guys off the street to play right now. Tonight, the Grizzlies face a Mavs team that also has nothing to play for but draft position. Dallas still managed a 118-107 home win over the Nuggets its last game. My issue here is the size of the spread. Memphis, despite its losing skid, has still managed to keep some of its games relatively close. I'm going to say the Mavericks win straight up today, but in losing a 17th straight contest the Grizzlies will still stay within the nine points.
