Clippers rolling

Los Angeles is back on a hot streak, having won five straight following a 109-94 victory at OKC on Tuesday. The Clippers are 4-1 against the spread during this win streak. The Clippers are 42-19 on the season, 17-13 on the road, 33-28 against the spread and 32-28-1 with the under.

The Clippers are putting up 116.1 points per game on offense this season while shooting 46.5 percent as a team. Defensively, Los Angeles is giving up 109.8 points per game while opponents shoot 43.7 percent from the field. Kawhi Leonard is leading the team with 27.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. Paul George is adding 21.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest.

Rockets slip up in New York

Houston saw a six-game win streak come to an end on Monday in a 125-123 loss at New York to the Knicks. The Rockets are just 1-3 against the spread in their last four. On the season, Houston is 39-21 overall, 21-8 at home, 29-31 against the spread and 33-27 with the under.

The Rockets have a great offense this year, averaging 118.9 points per game despite shooting just 45.4 percent from the field. Defensively, Houston is giving up 109.8 points per game while opponents are held to 43.7 percent shooting. James Harden is leading Houston with 34.9 points, 6.3 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game. Russell Westbrook is adding 27.5 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game.

NBA Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The Clippers are 4-1 against the spread in their last five, but just 3-6 ATS in their last 9 against Southwest Division opponents.

Houston

The Rockets are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games played on Thursday, but just 3-5 ATS in their last eight as a favorite.

Prediction:

Houston has won two of three against the Clippers this season and covered the spread in all three meetings. Los Angeles is playing well right now, but Los Angeles hasn’t shown an ability to have a lot of long winning streaks without a letdown game mixed in. Their overall road record is still concerning as the playoffs approach. Houston has played well with a small lineup, but the Rockets also haven’t been facing the cream of the crop in recent outings. Their win at Boston last weekend was impressive and should give them hope tonight. Houston needs this game more than the Clippers from a winning mindset. I think Los Angeles’ depth could be a problem or the Rockets, but I expect Harden and Westbrook to be at their best for this big game.

NBA Prediction: Houston Rockets -1
