Orlando Magic Fantasy Spin
Nikola Vucevic hit 13-of-16 shots and 2-of-2 free throws on his way to 28 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks in 36 minutes of Sunday's loss to the Cavaliers. It's been a dream season for Vuc and tonight's line was about as strong as any game he's played this season. It didn't hurt that he was playing against the center-less Cavs, but an Orlando win would have made Vuc's line feel a little better. Especially since they're barely hanging onto a playoff spot right now. The Magic have only lost three times in their last 11 games, but those losses came to the lottery-bound Bulls, Knicks and Cavs.
Philadelphia 76ers Fantasy Spin
Joel Embiid (knee) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Magic. This will be Embiid's sixth straight game on the sidelines, although he was able to practice on Monday, so maybe he'll be able to return to the floor for Wednesday's game in Chicago. Jonah Bolden (sinusitis) and Amir Johnson (back) are questionable for Tuesday, and if they're forced to join Embiid on the sidelines, Mike Scott could be forced into the starting five. Tobias Harris, Ben Simmons and Jimmy Butler will also see an uptick in usage sans Embiid.
NBA Betting Trends
Orlando
The Magic are 12-3-1 against the spread in their last 16 games when facing an opponent from the Atlantic Division.
Philadelphia
The 76ers are 28-12 at the betting window in their last 40 home games versus an opponent with a losing road record.
Prediction
The Magic looked to have awoken from their slumber in the third quarter on Sunday in Cleveland, only to collapse as the Cavs reclaimed the lead and ran away with the game in the fourth. That said, Orlando has been tough against quality opponents recently and should rebound tonight in Philly. In the previous 19 meetings between these two teams in Philadelphia, the Magic are 14-5 against the spread. They’re also 8-3 against the number in their last 11 road games and have covered the spread in four straight following a loss. On the other side, the Sixers are just 2-6 against the number in their last eight games versus an opponent with a losing record.
