Raptors in a funk

Toronto is on a three-game losing streak right now following a 133-118 loss at Denver on Sunday night. The Raptors are 42-18 on the season, 19-9 on the road, 33-27 against the spread and 31-28-1 with the over.

The Raptors are averaging 112.8 points per game on offense this season while shooting 45.8 percent from the field. Defensively, Toronto is giving up just 106.4 points per game while holding opponents to 42.9 percent shooting. The Suns have some question marks tonight, as Serge Ibaka and Fred VanVleet are both questionable to play due to injuries. These two combine for over 33 points per game. Pascal Siakam is leading Toronto this season with 23.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. Kyle Lowry is adding 19.2 points, 7.7 assists and 4.8 rebounds per contest.

Suns also sliding

Phoenix is also riding a three-game losing streak, but their last two losses are at home against the Pistons and the Warriors. Phoenix is now 24-37 on the season, 11-21 at home, 27-33-1 against the spread and 31-30 with the under.

The Suns are scoring 112 points per game on offense while shooting 46.3 percent from the field. Defensively, Phoenix is giving up 113.3 points per game while opponents shoot 47.3 percent against them. Devin Booker has been leading the team with 26.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game. Deandre Ayton is adding 19.2 points and 11.9 rebounds per contest. Kelly Oubre Jr., who is averaging 18.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, is out tonight with a knee injury.

NBA Betting Trends

Toronto

The Raptors are 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 Tuesday games and 38-16 ATS in their last 54 games playing on 1 day of rest.

Phoenix

The Suns are 6-19-1 against the spread in their last 26 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games as an underdog.

Prediction:

Toronto just grabbed a 118-101 win at home over Phoenix back on Feb. 21, and the Raptors have won five straight in the series overall. However, Phoenix has covered in nine of the last 10 meetings, including five straight at home. Both teams have been hard to trust as of late. The Raptors have really been under-performing as they battle some injuries. The Suns also have looked lackluster, especially at home against bad teams like Detroit and Golden State. The lack of Oubre Jr. really impacts the overall scoring and rebounding depth of the team. I think that will be a problem against the Raptors. Toronto knows it can afford to lose games against losing opponents like Phoenix and the Suns aren’t even at full strength. I think the Raptors pull it together and get the road cover.

NBA Prediction: Phoenix Suns -4.5
