Pistons vs. Cavs Prediction
Pistons head coach Dwane Casey wants to see his players restore an “empty stomach” mentality when they face the Cavs on Saturday afternoon in Cleveland. Will Detroit rebound from its loss to the Spurs while also covering as a 7-point favorite?

Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Pistons are 7-point favorites to beat the Cavs. The total, meanwhile, sits at 216.5 points and as of this writing, 62% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Pistons to cover the point spread.
Detroit Pistons Fantasy Spin
Blake Griffin made 6-of-18 from the field for 17 points with seven rebounds, seven assists and three 3-pointers in a 105-93 loss to the Spurs on Wednesday. He's off to a slow start since the break, failing to score more than 20 points in any of his four games since his All-Star Game appearance. Griffin is also cold from the field in his last three, making just 19-of-55 (34.5%). The Pistons had been hot on offense with a three-game winning streak despite Blake's struggles, and there's no reason to worry about this slight dip in offensive output.
Cleveland Cavs Fantasy Spin
Kevin Love (rest) is listed as out for Saturday against the Pistons. It's the front end of a back-to-back set for Love, so it's not a surprise he'll sit out. He had said that he hoped to play in all the games going forward, but obviously the Cavs aren't making a playoff push. Larry Nance should find himself in a big spot on Saturday.
NBA Betting Trends
Detroit
The Pistons are 16-6 against the spread in their last 22 games when facing an opponent with a winning percentage that is below .400.
Cleveland
The Cavs are just 16-38 at the betting window in their last 54 home games when facing a foe with a losing road record.
Prediction
Before their loss to the Spurs on Wednesday, the Pistons were hot and had worked their way into the No. 7 spot in the East. But with pressure mounting, Detroit could start to crack. There is a talent discrepancy in this matchup, but the Cavs have nothing to play for and have played loose of late. In fact, Kevin Love even told reporters recently that the Cavs are “enjoying being out there.” With seven points in my back pocket and home-court advantage, I’m backing Cleveland versus a road-weary Detroit squad. (Today will be the Pistons’ fifth road game in their last six contests overall.)
