Pelicans vs. Lakers Prediction
Anthony Davis didn’t face the Lakers when L.A. visited New Orleans last Saturday but will be in action tonight when the two teams play at 10:30 p.m. ET. After pulling off the upset last time around, will the Pelicans again cover as an underdog?

Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Lakers are 5.5-point favorites to beat the Pelicans. The total, meanwhile, sits at 239.5 points and as of this writing, 61% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Lakers to cover the point spread.
New Orleans Pelicans Fantasy Spin
Anthony Davis will again be confined to around 20 minutes for Wednesday's game against the Lakers. Davis will play in 5-7 minute spurts, and while that caps his upside, he's still worth throwing out there in all season-long formats. The Pelicans have a Friday-Saturday back-to-back set this weekend, and Alvin Gentry confirmed after Wednesday's shootaround that AD will be skipping one of those games, although he hasn't decided which one.
Los Angeles Lakers Fantasy Spin
LeBron James triple-doubled in a 110-105 loss to Memphis, scoring 24 points (8-of-23 FGs, 8-of-10 FTs) with 12 rebounds, 11 assists, three steals and five turnovers in 40 minutes. He made history tonight, becoming the first player to rank inside the top 10 in both the NBA's all-time scoring and assists lists -- he's ranked 5th in points and now 10th in dimes. LeBron recently said he "activated" his playoff mode in an effort to carry his team into the playoffs, and while tonight's line backs that up, it wasn't enough as his team fell to 11th in the West. They are still just two losses behind the current No. 8 seed (Spurs), so fantasy owners can expect more lines like this one.
NBA Betting Trends
New Orleans
The Pelicans are 16-6-1 against the spread in their last 23 games when facing the Pacific Division.
Los Angeles
The Lakers are just 6-13-2 at the betting window in their last 21 home games versus an opponent with a losing road record.
Prediction
The Pelicans have covered the spread in 17 of their previous 24 trips to Staples Center and are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games versus the Lakers overall. Speaking of tonight’s host, the Lakers failed to cover the spread in four of their previous five games and are just 1-5-1 at the betting window in their last seven games when facing an opponent with a losing record. With the Pelicans covering in five of their previous seven road games and the Lakers dropping seven of 10 overall, give me the points.
Wednesday NBA Prediction: New Orleans Pelicans +5.5
