Cam Thomas came off the bench to tally 22 points (6-of-15 FGs, 7-of-9 FTs), one rebound, two assists, and three 3-pointers in Friday's 131-87 loss to the Bulls. Thomas was one of the few bright spots for the Nets in Friday's blowout defeat, reaching double figures for the ninth time in his last 10 appearances. While the second-year guard appeared to be in a bad spot after the Nets added multiple wings at the trade deadline, it may be difficult for Jacque Vaughn to keep Thomas off the court. There's a clear need for scorers, and Thomas fits the bill. Friday's game being a blowout certainly gave him a boost in the minutes' category, but he's a player worth holding onto. Seth Curry also had a solid night off the bench, scoring 19 points with two rebounds, three assists, and three 3-pointers in 21 minutes.
Atlanta Hawks DFS Spin
Trae Young finished Friday's 136-119 win over the Cavaliers with 34 points (8-of-18 FGs, 14-of-15 FTs), three rebounds, nine assists, one steal, and four 3-pointers in 32 minutes. The first game of the post-Nate McMillan era went great for the Hawks, who scored 49 second-quarter points and won by 17. Young led the way offensively, scoring at least 30 points in a game for the 19th time this season. He and Dejounte Murray were outstanding, with the latter adding 25 points (11-of-19 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs) with nine rebounds, eight assists, one steal, and two 3-pointers in 35 minutes. With it being reported Friday night that the Hawks are close to hiring Quin Snyder as their next head coach, all eyes will be on Young moving forward, with the expectation being that he has more nights like this.
