According to the latest oddsmakers, Orlando is the slight favorite on the road, as the Magic are getting odds of -2.5 points against the Hawks. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 227 points. The public betting currently has 53 percent going on the Hawks as the home underdog. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Magic trying to heat up

Orlando has had some bad stretches this season, but the Magic have won three of their last four following a 115-113 win at Brooklyn on Monday night. Orlando is 25-32 on the season, 10-18 on the road, 24-31-2 against the spread and 29-25-3 with the under.

The Magic are the league’s top defensive team, allowing just 105.8 points per game while opponents shoot 45.9 percent from the field. Offensively, Orlando is putting up only 104.2 points per game while shooting just 43.4 percent from the field. The Magic are led by Nikola Vucevic, who is averaging 19.1 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. Evan Fournier is adding 18.9 points per contest.

Hawks beat up by Philly

Atlanta had a brief two-game win streak come to an end on Monday, losing 129-112 at Philly against a short-handed 76ers team. The Hawks are now 17-42 on the season, 11-17 at home, 27-31-1 against the spread and 35-24 with the over.

The Hawks are giving up 119 points per game on defense this season, which ranks 29th in the league. Opponents shoot 47.6 percent against them. Offensively, Atlanta is putting up 110.6 points per contest while shooting just 44.7 percent as a team. Trae Young leads Atlanta this season with 29.9 points and 9.2 assists per game. John Collins is adding 20.8 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

Orlando

The Magic are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games as a road favorite and 16-5 ATS in their last 21 road games against a team with a losing home record.

Atlanta

The Magic are 6-1-1 against the spread in their last eight home games, but 7-16-1 ATS in their last 24 games against a team with a losing record.

Prediction:

Atlanta has won two of three against Orlando this season, including a 103-99 win at home back on Oct. 26. The last meetings with a 135-126 win for the Magic at home back on Feb. 10. The Magic have the defense to win this game on the road. While Trae Young is a great scorer and Atlanta averages more points than the Magic, the Hawks don’t shoot the ball very well. I think those shooting struggles will continue against this Orlando defense, which likes to slow the pace of play down and limit possessions. Orlando should be able to continue its recent scoring surge against an Atlanta defense that struggles to make stops consistently. I like Orlando on the road tonight.

NBA Prediction: Orlando Magic -2.5
