Mavs looking for playoff push

Dallas has won three of its last four after a 139-123 at home over Minnesota on Monday night. The Mavericks come into this game 35-23 overall, 19-9 on the road, 31-24-3 against the spread and 37-21 with the over.

The Mavericks rank third in the NBA in scoring, averaging 116.8 points per game while shooting 46.3 percent from the field. Defensively, Dallas is giving up 110.6 points per game while opponents shoot 45.3 percent against them. Luka Doncic is leading the team with 28.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 8.6 assists per game. Kristaps Porzingis is adding 18.5 points and 9.1 rebounds per contest.

Spurs end long road trip

San Antonio wrapped up an 8-game road trip that spanned through the All-Star Break. Their last game was Sunday at Oklahoma City, a 131-103 loss. San Antonio hasn’t had a home game since Feb. 1. The Spurs are 24-32 on the season, 14-12 at home, 24-31-1 against the spread and 34-21-1 with the over.

The Spurs are putting up 113 points per game on offense this season while shooting 46.9 percent from the field. Defensively, San Antonio is giving up 114.6 points per game while allowing opponents to shoot 46.9 percent against them. The Spurs are without a big piece tonight, as LaMarcus Aldridge is out with a shoulder injury. He averages 18.8 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. DeMar DeRozan is leading San Antonio this season with 22.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game.

NBA Betting Trends

Dallas

The Mavericks are 15-5-1 against the spread in their last 21 games as a road favorite and 36-16-3 ATS in their last 55 road games overall.

San Antonio

The Spurs are 11-23 against the spread in their last 34 home games, but 15-5 ATS in their last 20 games as a home underdog.

Prediction:

Dallas has won both meetings with the Spurs this season, but the two haven’t met since Dec. 26. San Antonio did manage to cover in the last encounter. It’s been a long time since the Spurs played at home. Returning home could provide a nice boost for San Antonio. Even without Aldridge, the Spurs have some shooting options. Their defense is a concern, but I would expect it to be better at home. We have seen the Mavericks struggle with losing teams like the Hawks and the Wizards on the road in recent weeks, so I am going to roll the dice with the Spurs at home tonight.
