Blazers heating up

Portland is coming off a 130-115 win at Philadelphia on Saturday for its third straight win and cover. The Blazers are 36-23 overall, 12-15 on the road, 33-26 against the spread and 30-28-1 with the over.

The Blazers are putting up 113.6 points per game on offense while shooting 46.4 percent as a team. Defensively, Portland is giving up 110.2 points per game while opponents shoot 45.6 percent against them. Guard Evan Turner is out for tonight’s games with a knee injury. Damian Lillard is leading the team with 25.9 points and 6.4 assists per game while CJ McCollum is adding 20.9 points per contest.

Cavs on surprising win streak

The Cleveland Cavaliers have won two straight and three of their last four following a 112-107 win at home over Memphis on Saturday. The Cavs are now 14-46 on the season, 9-22 at home, 27-32-1 against the spread and 30-29-1 with the over.

Cleveland is putting up just 103.2 points per game on offense while shooting 44.1 percent as a team. Defensively, the Cavs are giving up 113.1 points per game while allowing teams to shoot 48.9 percent, which ranks last in the league. Kevin Love is leading the team with 17.8 points and 10.9 rebounds per game while Jordan Clarkson is adding 16.9 points per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

Portland

The Blazers are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven against Central Division opponents and 13-5 ATS in their last 18 overall.

Cleveland

The Cavs are 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games and 4-11-1 ATS in their last 16 games against Western Conference opponents.

Prediction:

The Blazers own a 17-point win over the Cavs in January and I like Portland tonight as well. The Blazers can be a little shaky on the road, but I think they will overwhelm this Cleveland team that has nothing to play for. Portland has won three of its last four, but that was against the Knicks, Suns and Grizzlies, who are three of the worst teams in the NBA. Portland is heading up and I like the Blazers to roll the Cavs tonight.

NBA Prediction: Portland Trail Blazers -9
