Celtics continue road trip

Boston is on a road trip right now. They are playing their fourth road game out of their last five and now starting out West. The Celtics are coming off a 127-117 win at Minnesota on Friday. Boston is 39-16 on the season, 16-11 on the road, 33-20-2 against the spread and 30-25 with the under.

The Celtics are putting up 113.3 points per game on offense this season while shooting 46.3 percent from the field. Defensively, Boston is allowing 106.4 points per game while opponents shoot just 44.1 percent against them. Kemba Walker remains out for the Celtics with a knee injury. He puts up 21.8 points and 5.0 assists per game. Jayson Tatum is leading the team with 22.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, while Jaylen Brown is averaging 20.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per contest.

Lakers add to win streak

Los Angeles is coming off a 117-105 win at home over Memphis on Friday for a fourth straight win and a third straight cover. The Lakers are now 42-12 on the season, 19-7 at home, 29-24-1 against the spread and 27-27 with the over/under total.

The Lakers are putting up 114.8 points per game on offense this season while shooting a league-best 48.8 percent from the field. Defensively, Los Angeles is allowing 107.3 points per game while opponents shoot 44.7 percent against them. LeBron James is leading the team with 25.1 points, 10.7 assists and 7.7 rebounds per game. Anthony Davis is adding 26.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per contest. Davis is dealing with a calf injury, but is expected to play today.

NBA Betting Trends

Boston

The Celtics are 10-4 against the spread in their last 14 games overall and 11-3 ATS in their last 14 as an underdog.

Los Angeles

The Lakers are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games as a favorite and 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a win.

Prediction:

Boston won the first meeting this season in impressive fashion, 139-107 at home back on Jan. 20. However, I like the Lakers today. Los Angeles has been stellar at home and their shooting is off the charts. I don’t see Boston being able to match that offensive production without Walker in the lineup. I also don’t think Boston matches up well with Davis. Their frontcourt is going to have their hands full with Davis and LeBron. I will go with the Lakers minus the points.

NBA Prediction: Los Angeles Lakers -6.5
