Suns on major skid

Phoenix has lost 15 straight games coming into the break following a 134-107 defeat on the road against the Clippers last week. The Suns have failed to cover in their last three road games. Phoenix is 11-48 on the season, 4-26 on the road, 25-34 against the spread and 32-27 with the under.

The Suns have been a mess on defense all season, allowing 116.1 points per game while opponents shoot 48.4 percent against them. Offensively, Phoenix has had its moments, but averages just 105.9 points per game while shooting a league-worst 32.6 percent from the arc. T.J Warren is questionable to play tonight due to an ankle injury. He is averaging 18 points per game. Devin Booker is leading the team with 24.6 points and 6.7 assists per contest.

Cavs struggling as well

Cleveland is coming off a 148-139 OT loss at home to the Brooklyn Nets before the break. They have lost five of their last six games and failed to cover the spread in three of their last four. Cleveland is now 12-46 on the season, 7-22 at home, 25-32-1 against the spread and 29-28-1 with the over.

The Cavs have really struggled offensively this season, averaging just 103 points per game while shooting just 44.1 percent from the field. Defensively, Cleveland is allowing 113.5 points per game while allowing a league-worst 49.1 percent shooting to opponents. Tristan Thompson remains out with his foot injury. Jordan Clarkson is leading the team with 17.2 points per game while Kevin Love is averaging 15.7 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. Love is still seeing limited minutes as he returns from his injury.

NBA Betting Trends

Phoenix

The Suns are just 1-8 against the spread in their last nine games against Central Division opponents and 1-5 ATS in their last six road games.

Cleveland

Cleveland is 3-10 against the spread in its last 13 Thursday games and 7-19 ATS in its last 26 against Pacific Division opponents.

Prediction:

Both of these teams are a mess, but Phoenix has really fallen apart over the last month. Cleveland is at least healing up a little bit and should be the more competitive team going forward. I can’t trust Phoenix to go out East and pick up a win, even against a bad Cleveland squad. This game is pretty much an even pick, so I will take the home team against this tumbling Phoenix squad.

NBA Prediction: Cleveland Cavaliers -1
