Hornets coming off loss

The Charlotte Hornets are coming off a 117-115 loss at home to the Clippers last night, ending a brief 2-game win streak. Charlotte is now 26-27 overall, 7-18 on the road, 27-26 against the spread and 28-24-1 with the over.

The Hornets are averaging 111.6 points per game on offense this season while shooting 35.8 percent from the arc. Defensively, Charlotte is giving up 111.3 points per game while opponents shoot 46.6 percent from the field. Tony Parker is doubtful to play tonight due to a back injury. Kemba Walker is leading the team with 24.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game while Jeremy Lamb is adding 14.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest.

Mavericks with new look

Dallas is coming off a 111-98 win at Cleveland this past weekend. The Mavs have won four of their last six and are 6-0-1 against the spread in their last seven games. Dallas is now 24-28 overall, 18-7 at home, 32-19-1 against the spread and 29-23 with the under.

The Mavericks are putting up 109.3 points per game on offense this season while allowing 108.7 per game on defense. The team just traded for Courtney Lee, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Trey Burke last week and they will be making their debut with the team tonight. Luka Doncic is leading the team with 20.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game while Harrison Barnes is adding 17.8 points per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

Charlotte

The Hornets are 4-9 against the spread in their last 13 road games and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 road games against a team with a winning home record.

Dallas

The Mavericks are 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 home games and 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 games against Eastern Conference opponents.

Prediction:

Dallas has been playing well, even with a severely depleted roster. With the new additions, the team should have some better depth and more motivation to make a playoff push. Hardaway is another scoring option for this Dallas team, which should help them improve their offensive numbers. Charlotte has been very inconsistent on the road and I think the Hornets will struggle to cover today against this new Dallas team.

NBA Prediction: Dallas Mavericks -5.5
