Public Betting Trends

According to the latest oddsmakers, the Mavericks are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -5 points against the Grizzlies. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 226.5 points. The public betting currently has 65 percent going on the Mavericks at home. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Grizzlies playing well

Memphis has won five of its last six games following a 96-82 win at home over Detroit on Monday. The Grizz have covered the spread in all five of the wins. Memphis is now 25-25 on the season, 10-12 on the road, 27-22-1 against the spread and 25-25 with the over/under total.

The Grizzlies are giving up 115 points per game this season on defense while opponents are shooting 45.7 percent from the field. Offensively, Memphis is scoring 113.1 points per game while shooting 47.4 percent as a team. Jaren Jackson Jr. is leading the team with 17.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game. Ja Morant is adding 17.3 points and 7.1 assists per contest.

Mavs winning without Luka

Dallas remains without star guard Luka Doncic due to an ankle injury, but they have won their last two games and covered in three straight. The Mavericks are 31-19 on the season, 14-12 at home, 27-20-3 against the spread and 30-20 with the over.

The Mavericks rank third in the NBA, averaging 116.3 points per game while shooting 46.1 percent from the field. Defensively, Dallas is giving up 110 points per game while opponents are shooting 45.1 percent against them. Along with the injury to Doncic, both JJ Barea and Seth Curry are questionable to play tonight. Kristaps Porzingis is leading the active roster with 17.8 points and 9.1 rebounds per game while Tim Hardaway Jr. is adding 14.2 points per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

Memphis

The Grizzlies are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight Wednesday games and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games following a win.

Dallas

The Mavericks are 6-2-1 against the spread in their last nine games as a favorite, but just 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 home games.

Prediction:

Dallas owns a win at Memphis from earlier this season, but the two teams are now in very different places. The Grizzlies have been playing very well in the new year while the Mavericks are a little beat up in the backcourt. Memphis has great guard play behind Morant and I think that will be the difference against a Mavs team that is lacking in much depth at ball-handler. I look for the Grizzlies to put up a big number that Dallas can’t keep up with.

NBA Prediction: Memphis Grizzlies +5
