Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Celtics are 10-point favorites to beat the Cavs. The total, meanwhile, sits at 210 points and as of this writing, 65% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Celtics to cover the point spread.
Boston Celtics Fantasy Spin
Kyrie Irving (left hip strain) will not play on Tuesday vs. the Cavaliers. This will be Irving's 7th DNP since the turn of the new year. This is also the second time he's sitting out against the Cavaliers, so maybe that was a factor here. Either way, it makes sense to pick Terry Rozier up to not only stream on Tuesday, but also because he has some stash appeal for the trade deadline.
Cleveland Cavs Fantasy Spin
Kevin Love (left foot) will remain on the sidelines for Tuesday's game against the Celtics. Love has gone through a few full contact, 5-on-5 practices, so he's getting close and should be owned everywhere at this point. After Tuesday's game, the Cavs have a Friday-Saturday back-to-back set on the road, so it seems unlikely that Love would play in either of those. However, maybe he'll be able to return to the floor for next Monday's home game against the Knicks. Ante Zizic and Larry Nance will take a hit once he's back.
NBA Betting Trends
Boston
The Celtics are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games against Eastern Conference foes.
Cleveland
The Cavaliers failed to cover the spread in eight of their previous 11 home games.
Prediction
While the home team is 8-1 against the spread in the last nine meetings between these two teams, the favorite has covered in seven of the previous eight games. The Celtics are also 8-1 at the betting window in their last nine games versus a team with a winning percentage below .400 and are 4-1 against the number in their last five games coming off a win. The Cavs, meanwhile, are 15-4-1 against the spread in their last 56 home games versus a team with a losing road record and are 10-27-1 ATS in their last 38 games following a double-digit loss at home.
