According to the latest oddsmakers, the Lakers are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -12 points against the Spurs. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 226.5 points. Spurs fall in STAPLES

The Spurs are coming off a 108-105 loss in STAPLES Center last night to the Clippers. Despite that, San Antonio has covered the spread in four straight games. San Antonio is 22-27 on the season, 8-15 on the road, 22-26-1 against the spread and 29-20 with the over.

San Antonio is giving up 113.8 points per game while opponents shoot 46.1 percent from the field. Offensively, the Spurs are putting up 113.9 points per game while shooting 47.1 percent from the floor. San Antonio is being led by DeMar DeRozan, who is averaging 23.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. LaMarcus Aldridge is adding 19.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest.

Lakers win in Sacramento

Los Angeles is coming off a 129-113 win at Sacramento on Saturday night to snap a brief 2-game skid. The Lakers are 37-11 on the season, 16-6 at home, 25-22-1 against the spread and 24-24 with the over/under total.

The Lakers are putting up 114 points per game while season while shooting a league-best 48.4 percent from the field. Defensively, Los Angeles is giving up 106.9 points per game while opponents shoot 44.3 percent against them. LeBron James is leading the team with 25.0 points, 7.7 rebounds and 10.7 assists per contest. Anthony Davis is adding 26.6 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

San Antonio

The Spurs have covered the spread in four straight road games and in six of their last seven games as an underdog.

Los Angeles

The Lakers are 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games as a favorite and 1-4 ATS in their last five games after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

The Lakers have won and covered the spread in both meetings with the Spurs this season, both of which came in San Antonio. With Los Angeles at full strength, I expect them to be able to handle their business at home. They had an emotional loss to the Blazers in their last home game against the Blazers. I think they will bounce back as they turn their focus onto winning an NBA title for the city. San Antonio is streaky, but I don’t think the Spurs will be able to hang with a motivated Los Angeles team tonight.

NBA Prediction: Los Angeles Lakers -12
