Blazers catching fire

Portland is riding a four-game win streak right now following a 124-107 win at home over Utah on Saturday. The Blazers have covered the spread in all four wins as well. Portland is 23-27 on the season, 10-16 on the road, 20-28-2 against the spread and 27-23 with the over.

The Blazers are putting up 113.5 points per game on offense this season while shooting 45.6 percent from the field. Defensively, Portland is giving up 114.7 points per game while opponents shoot 44.7 percent from the field. The Blazers are led by Damian Lillard, who is averaging 29.8 points, 7.9 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game. CJ McCollum is adding 21.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists per contest.

Nuggets fall on the road

Denver is coming off a 128-123 OT loss at Detroit on Sunday. They have lost two of their last four, but both came on the road. Denver is now 34-16 on the season, 19-6 at home, 22-24-4 against the spread and 28-22 with the under.

The Nuggets are giving up 106.5 points per game on defense this season while opponents are shooting 45.8 percent from the field. Offensively, Denver is averaging 109.8 points per game while shooting 46.1 percent from the field. The Nuggets are without Jamal Murray, Paul Millsap, Mason Plumlee and Michael Porter Jr. due to injury right now. Nikola Jokic is leading the team with 20.2 points, 10.0 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game. Will Barton is adding 15.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

Portland

The Blazers are 4-9 against the spread in their last 13 road games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight Tuesday games.

Denver

The Nuggets are 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games and 8-1-2 ATS in their last 11 games following a loss.

Prediction:

The Nuggets have won and covered in both meetings with the Blazers this season, but Portland is on a nice hot streak right now. Lillard has been on an absolute tear, scoring at least 47 points in five of their last six games. Denver has really done a nice job against him, holding him to just 22.5 points through the first two meetings. Denver’s defense really locks in at home and I think they can find a way to contain Lillard. Without Lillard playing super-human, Portland doesn’t seem to be much of a team.

NBA Prediction: Denver Nuggets -4.5
