Public Betting Trends

According to the latest oddsmakers, the Wizards are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -1 point against the Nets. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 241 points. The public betting currently has 54 percent going on the Wizards as the slight home favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Nets trying to heat up

Brooklyn has won two straight and three of its last four following a 133-118 win at home over Chicago last night. The Nets are 21-26 on the season, 8-14 on the road, 21-26 against the spread and 24-22-1 with the over.

The Nets are middle of the road on offense and defense. They are putting up 110.2 points per game this season while shooting 44.5 percent from the field. Defensively, Brooklyn is giving up 112.1 points per game while opponents shoot 44.3 percent against them. Kyrie Irving has been leading the Nets with 28.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game. Spencer Dinwiddie is adding 21.4 points and 6.5 assists per contest.

Wizards win at home

Washington returned home from a four-game road trip on Thursday and earned a 121-107 win at home over Charlotte. The Wizards have won their last two at home. Washington is now 16-31 on the season, 10-11 on the road, 23-23-1 against the spread and 28-18-1 with the over.

The Wizards have the league’s worst defense, allowing 121 points per game while opponents shoot 49 percent against them. Washington is a strong offense though, putting up 115.7 points per game while shooting 46.4 percent from the field. Bradley Beal is leading the team with 28.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game. He is pretty upset by being left out of the All-Star Game. Davis Bertans adds 15.0 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.

NBA Betting Trends

Brooklyn

The Nets are just 1-7 against the spread in their last eight road games and 6-15 ATS in their last 21 on no rest.

Washington

The Wizards are 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games, but 2-6 ATS in their last eight following a win.

Prediction:

These two have yet to meet this season. While the Nets are playing well this week, their wins came against the Pistons and Bulls, not exactly the best and brightest. They did suffer a 110-97 loss at New York recently as well. The Wizards can score and Beal should be motivated to go out and take over this game after being left off the All-Star team. He lit up the Hornets on Thursday and I think, at home, he can light up this Brooklyn team that goes through stretches of not being terribly motivated.

NBA Prediction: Washington Wizards -1
