Who Oddsmakers Like: Dallas. According to oddsmakers at YouWager, the Mavericks are a 3-point favorite on the spread line. The total is set at 210.5 points. Dallas opened as a 2-point fave, while the total has gone up from 209.5.

Injury Report: Mavericks guard JJ Barea has missed the last two games with an oblique injury and is questionable for tonight. Nerlens Noel is out indefinitely as he recovers from surgery to repair a torn ligament in his thumb. Dorian Finney-Smith is out until mid-February with tendinitis in his quadriceps. Seth Curry is out until mid-February with a stress reaction in his tibia. For the Suns, center Alex Len has an ankle injury and is questionable tonight. Devin Booker has a rib contusion and it is not known if he will play tonight. Marquese Chriss is questionable with an ankle sprain. Alan Williams is out until late March as he recovers from surgery on a torn meniscus. Brandon Knight is out for the season after suffering a torn ACL last summer.

Who the Trends Like: Dallas is 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings. The over is 7-1 in the last eight meetings in Phoenix, but the under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings overall.

Who We Like: Something has to give here as the Mavericks have dropped four in a row, while Phoenix has done even worse with a five-game losing skid. This is a matchup between two of the worst teams in the NBA, although there is some young talent worth watching on both sides. In that sense, hopefully Booker is able to return to action as he is one of the NBA's most prolific scorers at almost 25 per game. But I like the Mavs here. They guard the perimeter well and won't have to deal with a dominant big man, which is where they struggle most defensively. Dennis Smith Jr. is really coming into his own as an NBA rookie and should be able to lead his squad to a victory here.
