New York Knicks DFS Notes

Obi Toppin scored 18 points with five rebounds, one assist, one block and two triples in 21 minutes vs. Miami on Wednesday. The Knicks were run out of the building and Julius Randle was benched down the stretch, so garbage time was a factor. The Knicks find themselves in a tricky spot because Randle’s max contract kicks in next season, so it would be a complete shock if he was benched. Toppin has played well in two straight though, so he has our attention in deeper leagues.

Milwaukee Bucks DFS Notes

Giannis Antetokounmpo (right knee soreness) returned to action on Wednesday vs. Cleveland with 26 points (7-of-13 FGs, 11-of-12 FTs), nine rebounds, three assists, one steal, one triple and seven turnovers. His recent performance at the free throw line has been a game-changer for fantasy. He was rested vs. the Kings for the second leg of the back-to-back in his last game, but Giannis’ fantasy managers have learned from years past that he gets a few maintenance days for his knee here and there. In the second half of the season it will be much more important to monitor his status against the bottom feeders of the NBA, especially on the road or during back-to-backs. He’ll take on the Knicks at MSG on Friday.

The Knicks are just 3-8 against the spread in their last 11 games against the Bucks, are 2-6 against the number in their last eight games as a road underdog and are 8-20 at the betting window in their last 28 games playing on one day of rest.
